SimplicityCam - using it in Stand Alone SimplicityTouch mode

Recording functionality, when using the SimplicityCam in Stand-Alone mode with the SimplicityTouch IFP, may or may not be supported depending on the IFP model.
The Camera application on most Generation 3 models allows you to connect the USB of the SimplicityCam directly to the USB port of the panel and record or take still shots. HomeScreen > Applications > Camera > Select either camera or recorder based on your desired outcome.
You will want to have a flash drive also plugged into the panel to save the files you create.
If you have a model that does not support Recording from the android Camera application, please see the following suggestions for using the SimplicityCam directly connected to the USB of the panel.
Using Stand-Alone mode
- Viewing the document camera image within the XPress application.
- To accomplish this, the user opens XPress from the Home Screen (bottom middle icon), select the Camera tool from the annotation toolbar, and drags a diagonal line across the page to open the image. Screencast-O-Matic is not available when using the XPress android application.

- Taking still shot images using the Camera application.
- To accomplish this, the user selects the Camera App which is located under “Applications” from the Home Screen (bottom left icon). When using this function, we recommend having a USB drive plugged into the panel as the photos will save directly to the flash drive. The Camera application does not currently support video recording.

- Using the computer input connected to the IFP. A user connects the USB of the SimplicityCam directly to their computer and their computer to the flat panel. This allows two easy to use options for the user.
- Open XSight HD Viewer and use the built-in recording functionality OR Screen Cast-O-Matic to create your mp4 (see our YouTube channel - Recordex USA - for more support on using the XSight HD Viewer software).
- Open XPress, select the Camera tool from the annotation toolbar and use Screen Cast-O-Matic from the side main menu to record and publish their lessons (see our YouTube channel - Recordex USA - for more support on using the XPress annotation software).
- Open XSight HD Viewer and use the built-in recording functionality OR Screen Cast-O-Matic to create your mp4 (see our YouTube channel - Recordex USA - for more support on using the XSight HD Viewer software).
